AATSG Appoints Hon Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim Patron
In its drive for mobilization for the 2023 general election, the Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu Support Group, AATSG, has appointed the federal commissioner for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim, as its nasarawa State patrons.
In her address, Suleiman Ibrahim said she was delighted to receive the team using the occasion to intimate the delegation with the workings of her office.
The national chairman of AATSG, Otunba Abayomi Odunowo, in his remarks said the group chose the commissioner as a patron for the organisation in recognition of her service to the country.
He said the group was working round the clock to ensure the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, becomes the next president of Nigeria.
He further stated that AATSG is combing the nation to bring together like-minded personalities into its fold to ensure the dream becomes a reality.
He said, ” Our mission is clear. We want to mobilize 50 million voters across the country to ensure Asiwaju Tinubu becomes the next president of Nigeria. We will continue to look for personalities like you across the country to make it happen.
“Your choice as one of our patrons is not by accident. We are meticulous in our criteria for selection and you have been found worthy of the honour, that’s why we are here today.”
The National Women Leader Hon Zara Bukar in her remarks said she has known the commissioner over a long period of time as a mobiliser of women. Even her noble decision to appoint a woman as her Chief Of Staff. She also mentioned the commissioner’s effort at developing the girl child. On her final note, She also requested the commissioner to support AATSG as mother and carry AATSG as a child.
In her response, the commissioner spoke about her experiences before she returned to Nigeria and the strong urge she had to return home to be part of the Development of the country.
She said she was excited about the efforts of AATSG at galvanizing support for Asiwaju saying the government has performed well but it may not be 100% but work is being done. There is need to sustain the progress of APC by another 8 years through Asiwaju.
She said Asiwaju has the track record to lead Nigeria having always being in charge and he mentors and believes in people.
She advised that AATSG should work with other groups supporting Asiwaju. She said we should all work together as a team. That it’s an exciting thing to be involved and that she is a grass root person who will be involved strongly in driving support for Asiwaju at the grass root level.
She further stated that she is an advocate of women participation in decision making revealing that she is affiliated with the Arewa women for Tinubu. She looks forward to a situation in the future where women are in supporting political offices like Vice President and Deputy Governor.
National Vice chairman north east Ahmed Baba Dikwa thanked the commissioner for all her interventions in the NE. Ahmed said NE is not as bad as people think it is. He also spoke about AATSG’s work and structures which is the establishment of real verifiable structures and the strategy of AATSG with regards to driving support for our principal from the POLLING UNITS.
During his remark the National Youth leader Hon Adedayo Adeyemi thanked the new patron for her intervention from her school days from Yola which prepared her as a vessel for her assignment in the future which has manifested.
He also said the people of the SW also feel her impact especially in Ijebu Oru where there is a refugee camp properly taken care of by the Commission.
In attendance were the National Chairman Otunba Abdulfalil Abayomi Odunowo, National Deputy Secretary, Daura Abdul-Nasser National Women Leader, Hon Zara Bukar, National Youth Leader Hon Adedayo Adeyemi, National Vice chairman, north east, Ahmed Baba Dikwa, National Vice chairman south east, Osondu Ofochebe, Abdulazeez Musa member AATSG Gombe, Shafaatu Bani Muazu, AATSG member from Niger State.
The new patron was then decorated by the National woman leader of the organisation followed by group photograph with the new patron.
